Anita Cochran is KSN’s main anchor and can be seen weekdays at 5, 6 and 10 p.m. Anita has been in the main anchor chair for three years, but her career with KSN goes back almost two decades.

Born and raised in Wichita, Anita began working at KSN in 1984 as a news editor. After graduating from Wichita State University in 1985, Anita became a news producer. In 1989, she left KSN to be the news anchor at KBSH in Hays, Kansas.

Anita rejoined the KSN family in 1991 as anchor and reporter for KSNG in Garden City. She returned to Wichita in 1993 as anchor of Kansas Sunrise. A year later Anita took over the weekend anchor slot. She became the noon and 5pm news anchor in the fall of 1999.

Anita received an Emmy Award by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in 1997 for her contribution to "A Common Thread," a half-hour public affairs program profiling the people behind the AIDS memorial quilt's visit to Wichita.

Anita was also nominated for a national Emmy in Community Service as co-producer of KSN’s "Simple Acts" project with the Kansas Health Foundation.

Anita is married and has two daughters.
