Anthony Powell joined the KSN News team in the fall of 2004. He brings 15 years of journalistic experience to his position as reporter and weekend anchor.
Anthony was born in Los Angeles and graduated from Cal State Northridge. He began his broadcasting career working in L.A. radio. While in Los Angeles, he also hosted several cable shows including "The Anthony Powell Show." He also TRIED to be an actor...but wasn't too successful...his biggest part...being on "The Dating Game."
From there he moved on to television in Georgia, New Mexico, Oklahoma City and Kansas City as an anchor and reporter.
Anthony has covered several major stories including the trial and execution of Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh and the trial of McVeigh's accomplice, Terry Nichols. He has also interviewed President Clinton, Vice-President Al Gore, Senator Bob Dole and Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman.
Anthony also likes the lighter side of journalism. He says one of his favorite stories was a behind-the-scenes piece about "America's Funniest Home Videos" and then host Bob Sagget.
He's new to Wichita but Anthony has fallen in love with the city. He enjoys living in Old Town and has joined the Wichita Art Museum.
He likes to spend his time reading, watching independent films, playing basketball and working out at the gym.
