Jason has been on the KSN team since 2001. He began his career on the ground floor interning for investigative units at three Chicago TV stations: WFLD (Fox), WBBM (CBS), and WMAQ (NBC). That led to his first job as a field producer at WFLD-TV in Chicago. He quickly resumed his investigative role and became a special segment producer at WFLD.
Ready to move in front of the camera, Jason became a consumer/investigative reporter at KVII-TV (ABC) in Amarillo, TX. He spent two years investigating stories in the Texas Panhandle, including the merits of a drug sting that rounded up scores of minorities in the Texas town of Tulia. In the end, the story gained national attention when a judge threw out the cases against those suspects, and the lone investigator was indicted for perjury.
Jason moved to KSN in 2001 as a special projects and general assignment reporter. He continued that role until 2004, when Jason split his time between KSN and free-lance producing for the A&E show "Cold Case Files." In 2005, Jason created his own documentary show for KSN, called "The Kansas Profile." He won a 2006 Emmy award for his profile of a Wichita Marine whose remains were finally recovered 30 years after the Vietnam War.
In 2007, Jason became KSN's assistant news director, though he has not given up his roots and continues to report stories on air for KSN. His story, "Greensburg: Then and Now"-- a portrait of the tornado-ravaged town before and after the storm-- won a regional Edward R. Murrow award in 2008.
Jason graduated from Columbia College in Chicago with a broadcast journalism degree and is a native of nearby Orland Park, IL. He's a big movie fan, and lists his favorites as "Jaws," "A Few Good Men," and "Crimson Tide." He also can't give up his love for the Cubs, so if you see him at the airport he's probably on his way to another game.
