Casey joined the KSN team in October of 2005 as Sports Reporter. He’s a native of Wichita with an extensive background locally as a standout athlete and broadcaster.
A graduate of Valley Center, Casey’s high school awards included 1995 Kansas All-State Class 5A defensive back and Southwest Offensive Player of the Year in football. On the baseball diamond, Casey was All-State 2nd Base in 1996 and Chisholm Trail League MVP in 1996.
Casey attended Wichita State where he was an infielder and four year letterman in baseball. He graduated from WSU with a degree in Sports Administration. Casey has also been extensively involved in the NBC World Series. In 2000 he was voted Most Popular Player and Most Outstanding Local Player. In 2005 he founded and served as Head Coach of the Park City Cowboys which finished 7th in their first year of competition at the NBC. For his efforts Casey was named 2005 Manager of the Year.
Casey used his degree from WSU to get his career started as Promotions Manager at the Coleman Company from 2001-2004. Casey caught the broadcasting bug in college and for the past eight years he’s broadcast high school football games. After leaving Coleman, Casey caught on as part-time Sports Reporter and photographer at Wichita’s ABC affiliate. Casey did some excellent work for that station before he was snapped up by KSN. Casey also did color commentary for the state-wide broadcasts of the NBC Championship games in 2005.
Casey’s hobbies include playing and coaching baseball, golf, working out and watching all sports. Casey says if he wasn’t a sportscaster, he would love to be a country singer/songwriter.
