As a native Kansan who's spent his entire career in the state, Mark has seen his share of unique Kansas weather. He joined the KSN WeatherLab Team in January 1995, and holds Seals of Approval from both the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association.

Mark is also a member of the NWA TV Seal Committee, helping to evaluate candidates hoping to earn the NWA Seal of Approval.  Mark recently presented a paper at a severe weather conference in Dodge City, and he has also taught Earth Science at Butler County Community College.

Born and raised on a farm near Kingman, Kansas, Mark earned his B.A. in Atmospheric Science with emphasis in broadcasting from the University of Kansas in 1990. He immediately started his meteorology career working for WeatherData, Incorporated. His duties included forecasting on KSN.

Mark is the Assistant Chief Meteorologist for KSN, and appears weekday mornings on KSN Today. Mark likes to spend his spare time with his wife and their three children.
