KSN is making changes in operations which may impact your reception.
- Most notable will be the fact that we have ceased analog operations in Great Bend. Analog Channel 2 is now off the air, and has been replaced with KSNC-DT.
- KSNC-DT commenced FULL POWER digital operation November 5, 2008. KSNC-DT is transmitted on UHF CH 22. KSNC-DT will be detected as 2.1 on your digital TV or DTV converter box.
A UHF antenna is required to receive KSNC-DT. Even If you received Channel 2 successfully with your antenna, the same antenna may not work well with KSNC-DT. Your indoor or outdoor antenna must have UHF reception capability.
Follow the instructions included with your DTV converter box. After the antenna and DTV converter are connected, and you scan for channels, KSNC should appear as 2.1.
If you are unable to receive Channel 2.1, verify that the antenna is connected to the “antenna” connector on the converter, and the “TV” connector has a short cable running from the converter to your TV. If you are running A/V lines to your TV, verify that the antenna is connected to the “Antenna” connection on the DTV converter, and the A/V lines are connected to the correct input of your TV.
If you still have reception problems, several options need to be looked at. If your prior reception of analog Channel 2 was extremely noisy, or unreliable, there may not be sufficient signal available for reception of KSNC-DT with your current antenna. If you are using an indoor or set top antenna, you may need to switch to an outdoor antenna, and aim it toward the KSNC tower. The KSNC tower is located approximately 3 miles north of Great Bend KS, on Highway 281.
