KSNK ANALOG TRANSMISSION WAS TAKEN OFF THE AIR NOVEMBER 26, 2008
KSNK, operating on analog channel 8 in Oberlin, Kansas was taken off the air on November 26th, 2008. KSNK's digital transmitter is currently on the air at FULL POWER on Channel 12 and will continue to broadcast with full power. KSNK-DT will be detected as CH 8.1 on your digital TV or tuner.
If you received Channel 8 successfully with an antenna, the same antenna should receive KSNK-DT.
Follow the instructions included with your DTV converter box. After the antenna and DTV converter are connected, and you scan for channels, KSNK should appear as 8.1.
If you are unable to receive Channel 8.1, verify that the antenna is connected to the "antenna" connector on the converter, and the "TV" connector has a short cable running from the converter to your TV.
If you are running A/V lines to your TV, verify that the antenna is connected to the "Antenna" connection on the DTV converter, and the A/V lines are connected to the correct input of your TV.
If you still have reception problems, several options need to be looked at.
If your prior reception of analog Channel 8 was extremely noisy, or unreliable, there may not be sufficient signal available for reception of KSNK-DT with your current antenna. If you are using an indoor or set top antenna, you may need to switch to an outdoor antenna, and aim it toward the KSNK tower. The KSNK tower is located approximately 9.5 miles west of Oberlin KS, on Highway 36.
