Mekialaya joined KSN in September 2010 as our Great Bend Bureau reporter. Raised in Colorado Springs, she graduated in 2008 from the University of Northern Colorado, with a double major of Journalism & Speech Communication.
Mekialaya began her career in broadcast television in Denver as a video journalist for KMGH. Her duties there included covering the 2008 Democratic National Convention as a video journalist. Following her time in Denver, she became a producer for KOAA-TV, the NBC affiliate in Colorado Springs, in March 2009. By December 2009, she became a reporter for the station.
She recently took up running, tennis, and is an avid reader. Mekialaya loves fashion, and is a self proclaimed "foodie". She enjoys sushi, and cooking. She is devoted to her faith, and always looks forward to spending time with her family.
Mekialaya considers herself to be very inquisitive and energetic, and truly enjoys telling stories and talking with viewers. She is excited to serve the people of Great Bend and Central Kansas.
