Buttercream Icing

Buttercream Icing
½ Cup Butter (at room temperature)
½ Cup Shortening
1 Tsp. Vanilla
¼ Tsp Almond Extract
4 Cups Powdered Sugar
2 Tbsp. Milk

Cream together butter and shortening with electric mixer.
Add Vanilla and Almond Extract
Add Powdered Sugar one cup at a time
Add Milk slowly until combined
Mix on high speed for 2-3 minutes until light and fluffy.


For Monster cupcakes use colored buttercream in a pastry bag with a #233 tip for fur. For eyes use white icing with a #5 tip and black icing with a #3 tip for the iris.

For Pumpkin patch cookies use green icing with a #233 tip for the grass. Use a food color pen to make faces on the pumpkins.

For Mummy cookies use white icing with a #47 tip for the bandages. For the eyes use yellow icing with a #5 tip and black icing with a #3 tip for the iris.
