Today's recipe comes from the kitchen of mother/daughter Andrea Hollingsworth and Melissa Hanson.

Adult Version:
2 large eggs
½ cup flour
½ sugar
½ cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup unsalted butter, melted
6 ounces dark chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 9" unbaked pie shell
Triple Berry Sauce (we like Smuckers)

  • Preheat 325 F. Beat eggs in large bowl until foamy. Gradually beat in flour and sugars until well blended. Add butter and beat smooth. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts. Pour into unbaked pie shell.
  • Bake about 50 minutes, until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool Completely.
  • Serve topped with Triple Berry Sauce.

Kid Version:
2 large eggs
½ cup flour
½ sugar
½ cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup unsalted butter, melted
12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
1 9" unbaked pie shell
Whipped Cream or Vanilla

  • Preheat 325 F. Beat eggs in large bowl until foamy. Gradually beat in flour and sugars until well blended. Add butter and beat smooth. Fold in chocolate chips. Pour into unbaked pie shell.
  • Bake about 50 minutes, until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool Completely.
  • Serve topped with whipped cream or ice cream.
  • Either version the chocolate chips can be omitted and changed out butterscotch, peanut butter, etc. We would not recommend milk chocolate. This is a very rich dessert!
  • Tip: Sprinkle Chocolate Chips with flour to help from floating to the bottom.
