WICHITA, Kansas -- Every Thursday, look for the 'Pet Project' on KSN News at Noon.
Usually, Jennifer Campbell with the Kansas Humane Society joins us to offer advice to pet owners, but she is off until July.
In her place, Karla Hartlep brought in a Dachshund-poodle mix named Edgar and asked viewers to consider giving him a home.
She also talked about a big event at the Kansas Humane Society on Saturday, June 19.
To celebrate the first year in its new facility, the Kansas Humane Society is hosting a first birthday celebration and an adopt-a-thon from 11 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
As a gift to the public for its support, the KHS is reducing adoption fees to $50 or less. Here is the list of fees for Saturday only:
Dogs - $50 (Regular Fee: $135)
Cats - $0 (Regular Fee: $99)
Puppies - $50 (Regular Fee: $150)
Kittens - $30 (Regular Fee: $999)
Each adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, basic series of vaccinations, and lifetime microchip.
