STOCKTON, Kansas -- Charges have been filed against Rooks County Sheriff Randy Axelson.

The sheriff was charged with nine felony methamphetamine counts.  Five of the counts included distribution within 1,000 feet of a school.

Axelson was arrested Dec. 30 and later released on a $45,000 dollar bond.

Ellis County Attorney Tom Drees is handling the case at the request of Rooks County.

Right now, Axelson remains on paid leave from Rooks County.

NO WAY this guy is guilty, he is a cop! Cops are good people, they don't do anything wrong. Just ask most of the people here. Just imagine what else this guy was doing. I will continue to dig until new legislation is passed to keep arsholes like this OUT of the PDs. We have a serious problem in this country with the WRONG crowd packing a badge and gun just because they pass a background check. That does NOT mean they are the people you want protecting your interests.

How does it make sense that this guy is on paid leave? I think of all things if he is not charged, he can receive back-pay....but paid leave? Wow. Good use of tax dollars!
