STOCKTON, Kansas -- Charges have been filed against Rooks County Sheriff Randy Axelson.
The sheriff was charged with nine felony methamphetamine counts. Five of the counts included distribution within 1,000 feet of a school.
Axelson was arrested Dec. 30 and later released on a $45,000 dollar bond.
Ellis County Attorney Tom Drees is handling the case at the request of Rooks County.
Right now, Axelson remains on paid leave from Rooks County.
