WICHITA, Kansas A Great Bend man will spend nearly 10 years behind bars for murder.

Antonio Mosqueda, 31, was originally charged with first-degree murder, but later pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.

Authorities say he shot 30-year-old Jose Luis Villanueva at his Great Bend home in August 2008.

Mosqueda had originally claimed that the man was an intruder in his home, but prosecutors say evidence did not support that claim.

Incidentally, Mosqueda’s 35-year-old brother Armando is behind bars accused of murdering his girlfriend in Lyons this past weekend. He is awaiting extradition from Texas to face charges in that case.
