GARDEN CITY, Kansas (AP) - Three groups from Garden City have opened a dental clinic for low-income residents of Dodge City.

The clinic is a project of the United Methodist Mexican-American Ministries, the Oral Health Taskforce and the Ford County Oral Health Commission.

Executive director Stephanie Waggoner says the clinic will be open three days a week. It will have four chairs in operation, with services provided by volunteer dentists and dental staff. The organizers are looking for a full-time dentist.

The Garden City Telegram reports that the clinic in Garden City served 545 patients in 2008, which increased to 2,735 visits last year.
