Man leads police on a 3-county chase

GREAT BEND, Kansas -- A man has been arrested after leading authorities on a high-speed chase through three counties.

It began at the Great Bend Walmart Sunday evening, when authorities were pursuing a theft suspect.

The 32-year-old suspect led officers through Stafford and Pratt counties before he eventually hit a utility pole in Pratt.

The Hoisington man was booked on theft, reckless driving, and DUI charges.

Officers from Great Bend, St. John, Macksville, Pratt, Kansas Highway Patrol, Barton County, Stafford County and Pratt County officials assisted in this chase.
