GARDEN CITY, Kansas -- Garden City authorities on Wednesday released new details in a deadly weekend fire.

The fire happened on Sunday in the 4000 block of East Nancy.

Fire officials say 26-year-old Nichole Savoy and her two daughters, 6-year-old Bryn and 18-month-old Madelyn, died from smoke inhalation, and they also say there was no smoke detector present.

The Kansas State Fire Marshal's Office and Garden City Fire Department have determined the cause of the fire to be accidental.

Authorities believe it started in the northeast bedroom of the home where the mother was found.
