Talk of miracles has been front and center lately since the Vatican came to Wichita to investigate whether Kansas priest Emil Kapaun should be elevated to sainthood.

I believe in Miracles, I know they are real!... God is good! I don't expect Atheist to Believe,... after all that would take a miracle!... Althought, you know that has happen too, many athiests have seean God's miracles in the past & have repented and became saved,... that is a true mircle of the heart! Don't be bitter, trust God and mircles will happen! There are too many peple that have had mircles of all kinds, and who would i be to call them all liers, that would be pretty narrow minded now wouldn't it? God cares for us! won't you let him?

Y'all talk past one another quite a bit. Maybe it's fashionable. I am glad there's some discussion kicking up here. I think Anthony Powell's video was remarkably balanced and probing, especially given its brevity. I'm only 50 and have had various transitions in my faith perspective. I thank God I embraced dogma for only a few months, but am still more grateful that something inexplicable drew me to favor faith over bitterness, arrogance and isolation. It seems a miracle that people can care for one another. I think too often dogma get in the way. Give me instead a spirit of playful inquiry, wonder and joy. Who needs to explain anything?

Istnearthing; it sounds like you have studied religion and mythology to some depth. I won't laugh at your beliefs as you laugh at those of us that believe in something besides what we have lost. I also won't give you sympathy for the loss of your legs as I'm sure you don't desire my sympathy. Your post seems to try and indicate these mythical events occurred before Yahshua. That is the assumption most people including young Christians make. Yahshua makes it clear He was from prior to all others. He refers to Himself by the first and last Hebrew letter- the beginning and the end. I do not limit my study of Eloheem to the "Bible", an intimate walk with Him requires an in depth study. something a lot of people fail to do. But I also will not receive or deny Him based on other worldly teachings such as the ones you have been deceived by. If you have any desire to remove your anger and restore what you lost let me know!

exhort, "isn't satan sneaky?" hahaha. The truth is staring you right in the face and you're so brainwashed by your mythology that you can't see it. You mention how the name jesus is from two words meaning the zeus. Funny you say that. The mesiah myth was a "sun god" stolen from the pagans. Ba'Al was born of a virgin in dec 24th or so at 12 went wandering and teaching until 32 when he was killed by his brother judat, and with his 12 teachers was buried and rose in 3 days to return to the stars...ound familiar? Egyptian god Horus was born of a virgin named mathyr(notice the "M", sign of the virgin in zodiac) began teaching at 12 hgad 12 followers was crucified at 32 and rose in 3 days to kick out his "son" "set", hence the Horizon (horice''s son)...these go back 1000s of years and the jesus myth is just the most modern of the same harvest myth..

Hahahahaha, First, what makes you think a so called answered prayer is a miracle? And how does one use the very book being investigated as evidence of what that book says is being truthful? Sounds like "saint" George because he destoryed a dragon of all things....again I can only say.. Hahahahahaha.Y'all are a bunch of superstitious tools with no independent thought to think critically. If you thought critically then you would realize that prayer can not exist because if it did I would have my amputated legs back. A whole congregation prayed for the return of my legs to no avail so how can you say prayer works when it didn't? Another thing, if your god is so real and loving and never makes mistakes because he is omnipotent, then how is it he made such a huge mistake so big he destroyed everyone but one family...must have been a huge mistake mr know it all.

Answer to Lexington: Proof of God lies in: 1) In the superior order and design the nature, which can not have been a consequence of a series of coincidences, no matter how many billions of years might have passed since its start. (If it had a start at all.) 2) In the books of God sent by the prophets, accompanied with miracles. 3) Miracles or "small miracles" that happen to people when they are in real need for help. Read my book "SMALL MIRACLES" to decide for yourself and ask yourself from where the "help" came.

"SMALL MIRACLES" by Askin Ozcan Thirty true-to-the-last-word, very stunning miracles from the author's life in different countries. ISBN 1598001000 (Outskirts Press) http://www.outskirtspress.com/smallmiracles

"Supernatural" miracles do not occur. Everything we see occurs in the natural world. A "supernatural" miracle, by definition, could not be observed. The idea that there is a "god" that listens to us and intervenes in the natural world is absurd. It is unprovable and unobservable. "Faith" doesn't prove anything except that the person who purports to have it is somewhat gullible. The idea that people praying had anything to do with this person's recovery has a much validity as saying "I wore red socks when he was having his operation, so my red socks cured him". It's nonsense, and so is prayer, and so is the idea of "miracles". The fact that the catholic church is investigating this shows that they probably need money to help pay off all those pedophile claims, and are attempting to attract more gullible people into the church. Got tithe?

To clarify the point of who performs the miracle, it is only God who does so. The prayers of the faithful, living or deceased, can be used to implore God's intervention. It is God's intervention alone that is the miracle not the words or action of the priest or saint, living or deceased.

Servant, I respect your beliefs but would encourage you to study more and open your mind to the scriptures. There was a dead man who touched the bones of a Profit. This man rose from the dead and lived. This story is in the Bible and offers us insight to a God of the Living. So instead of saying "dead men can't perform miracles" read 2Kings 13:20-21. Then study to see how God's miracles are beyond our carnal understanding and remember Yahshua's statement in John 13:28. I'm not one to attend Catholic services but I do believe "good" transcends denominations! And it sounds like this man from the prison camps of WWII did "good" as a servant of Yahshua! By the way did you know the "J" sound was not spoken till about 1500 years after the birth of Yahshua who is the one you referred to as Jesus? The name "Jesus" would not be very flattering to the Messiah considering the way it was derived from the name of a Greek God. "Je" comes from Greek "ve" meaning "the" and "sus" comes from greek "Zues". You are calling your Messiah "The Zeus"! By the way Zeus is replicate of - you guessed it- "Ba'al"! Isn't Satan sneaky. I know others have their theories of how we come to call "Yahshua" "Jesus" but why not just call Him what his followers called Him? I mean if you are truthfully a follower as you profess. Again I respect your beliefs but encourage you to study your beliefs more. You appear to be like the great orator "Apollo" not the god figure but rather the one that when he was taken aside and shown the "Truth of Yahshua" became the one Paul referred to as the one who watered the seed. Please Servant, receive this as encouragement and not spite of any kind. You know "Eloheem" wants your voice!
