WICHITA, Kansas -- Each week on KSN News, Dr. Tana Goering answers health questions from KSN viewers.  Her segment airs Mondays on KSN News at Noon, and on Tuesday mornings on Kansas Today.

Here are some of the issues she addressed Monday:

  • Child with cough that's lasted almost 6 weeks and the cough is getting worse

  • Pregnant woman with short-length, sharp pain in abdomen wants to know what round ligament pains are

  • Viewer wants to know if the H1N1 virus can be spread on food (such as in a restaurant, through a sick employee)

  • Woman with thyroid issue: blood test says it's normal, but she's having symptoms of a low thyroid

  • Viewer with high cholesterol wants to avoid Lipitor because of family history of heart and liver problems; wants to try lowering it with fish oil and niacin
