Petition calls to bench Larry Johnson

Kansas City, Missouri – You wont’ find the names Dan Cataldi, Andy Phelan or Joe Pinsky on the NFL depth chart, but they are trying to tackle Larry Johnson.

The three friends grew up in Kansas City and now live in Des Moines, Chicago and Seattle respectively. But they still love the Chiefs.

So much so that they’ve organized an online petition that implores Scott Pioli to bench or trade Johnson so he can’t break the Chiefs’ all –time rushing record. Johnson, who is suspended the rest of this week, is 75 yards shy of Priest Holmes’ franchise record.

The petition states that Johnson doesn’t belong among Chiefs’ greats and calls him a “black eye on the organization”.

They’ve gathered more than 7,500 signatures as media coverage has increased interview requests Wednesday, which include the Wall Street Journal.
