DES MOINES, Iowa- Wichita State lost a triple-overtime heartbreaker in Des Moines, Iowa Saturday night to the Drake Bulldogs, 93-86, losing their first true road game of the season. Ben Smith hit a game-tying three pointer for WSU with eight seconds left in the second overtime to force the final overtime period.
Stutz led the way for the Shockers with 27 points on 10-of-16 shooting before fouling out in overtime. Joe Ragland added 25 points and Murry, who also fouled out, was the only other Shocker player to reach double figures with 16 points to go along with 10 rebounds.
Ben Simons scored 29 points to lead the Bulldogs. Rayvonte Rice and Kurt Alexander scored 19 and 17 points respectively in the Bulldogs victory.
The Shockers will be in action again Wed. Feb. 1 as they travel to Missouri State for a 7:05 p.m. tipoff.
