HUTCHINSON -- Hutchinson Community College raced out to a 13-0 start on Pratt and the game was never close, as the Blue Dragons beat the Beavers 97-68.
The score was 48-22 at halftime.
The seventh-ranked Blue Dragons (18-2, 4-2) were led in scoring by freshman Mark Braden with 20. Sophomore Joe Mitchell, from Wichita Southeast, finished with 18.
Pratt (10-10, 1-5) had a game-high 22 from Terry Taylor.
The 17th-ranked Hutch women (18-2 overall) also won big, 69-26 over Pratt. Amanda Blakesley led the Blue Dragons' scoring with 14.
The women are now in a three-way tie with Cloud County and Butler atop the Jayhawk West conference. All have one loss.
The Pratt women ate 11-9 overall, 1-5 in the Jayhawk West.
