WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State volleyball student-athlete Emily Adney has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week of Nov. 7-12.
Adney, a junior from Golden, Colo., averaged 5.83 kills, 2.17 digs, .50 blocks and 6.33 points per set while hitting .400 in two Shocker home wins last weekend.
Her match-high 23 kills in a 3-0 win against Evansville Nov. 12 ranks as the top Shocker performance in a three-set match during the rally scoring era (2001-present) and the second most in a three-set match all-time to Janelle Watton’s 28 kills in 1991. She hit .370 in the match, added eight digs and one block.
Adney recorded a team-high 12 kills and hit .458 in a 3-0 win against Southern Illinois Nov. 11. She also added one service ace and five digs in the match.
This marks the second Player of the Week honor of the season for Adney.
The Shockers close out the regular season at Illinois State Friday and at Indiana State Saturday.
