WICHITA, KS -- Wichita State shortstop Tyler Grimes will not play in the NCAA Regional this weekend in Norman, OK. Grimes' right wrist was put in a cast on Tuesday and he will be out for four to six weeks.

Grimes broke his wrist when sliding into to home, trying to avoid a tag in the Shockers 4-2 win over Creighton on Saturday in the Missouri Valley Conference Championship game.

The freshman leadoff hitter hit .294 with 12-doubles, 2-triples and 5-homeruns while driving in 26.

Tayler Brown, who started the season at shortstop, will likely get the start Friday against Oklahoma in the first round of the NCAA Regional, but Chance Sossamon would also serve as another option.
