WICHITA, KS-- Five Wichita State Shockers were taken in the MLB 2011 First Year Player Draft.

Shortstop Tyler Grimes was taken in the fifth round (178th overall) by the Minnesota Twins.

Left handed pitcher Charlie Lowell was taken in the sixth round (193rd overall) by the Florida Marlins.

Left handed pitcher Brian Flynn was taken in the seventh round (227th overall) by the Detroit Tigers.

Catcher Chris O’Brien was taken in the eighteenth round (554th overall) by the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Right handed pitcher Chance Sossamon was taken in the 21st round (654th overall) by the Texas Rangers.

Right handed pitcher Mitch Mormann was taken in the 25th round (767th overall) by the Detroit Tigers

Left handed pitcher Josh Smith was taken in the 26th round (791st overall) by the Milwaukee Brewers
