KSN is making the StrikeAlert lightning detector available as an aid to those who need an extra measure of protection from cloud-to-ground lightning. KSN cautions users that no device is fool-proof, and StrikeAlert users should continue to be very alert to changing weather conditions. Thunderstorms can develop and move rapidly, and storms which have produced no cloud-to-ground lightning can begin to do so at any time. StrikeAlert should not be used as an absolute guarantee of personal safety.

I understand StrikeAlert has limitations, but would like to learn more.
