Because broken glass is always dangerous, you should consider replacing the glass in your home with safety glass. Safety glass has a layer of plastic between two sheets of glass. Instead of breaking into long shards, it breaks into little bits that are about the size of a pea. Safety glass can be a bit expensive, but is well worth its price. Check your house for dangerous areas where slips and falls could break glass. Replace glass in the bathrooms with safety glass in case of a slip in the bathtub or shower. Glass around stairwells and children's rooms should also be replaced or protected from falls.
