DERBY, Kansas -- The Derby High School marching band is beginning a unique fundraiser using a website known as Kickstarter.
It's a fundraiser that's been used to fund several art projects, even independent movies.
The group sets a fundraising goal, but if they don't meet their in goal in 30 days, they don't get any money.
"We've decided to go with Kickstarter, which it's a funding source for all kinds of art projects and creative projects. We're trying if for the first time. Everybody's trying to raise funds, and we're just trying to do something different," said Adam DeVault, Director of Band of Derby High School.
There are different rewards for people who donate at different levels.
The money raised will help to pay for the marching band's show next year.
The students on the school bus were not injured.
