WICHITA, Kansas - Numerous fire crews responded Wednesday to a fire in the 5800 block of East 109th Street North.
It broke out around 1:30 p.m.
Officials say the home was destroyed, and they found a dog with burns. The dog later died.
The homeowners were not at the home when the fire broke out.
Woodlawn and Oliver between 109th Street was closed as crews battled the flames.
Officials have not released a cause, but neighbors say they heard popping noises before flames broke out.
