WICHITA, Kansas -- A motorcycle rider was critically injured Friday morning in an accident north of Wichita.
The crash happened just before 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of 85th North and Broadway.
Investigators believe the driver of the pickup didn't see the southbound motorcycle and pulled into the intersection where he crashed into the bike.
The rider was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but police are encouraging drivers to be more aware of motorcycle as the weather gets warmer.
"As time goes on throughout the summer we're gonna see a lot more bikes. People need to be aware of the single headlight compared to the dual headlights and just keep aware. There's a lot of other people out here besides cars," said Sgt. Trent Johnson.
The driver of the pickup wasn't injured.
