WICHITA, Kansas – Emergency crews are responding to a fatal crash in SE Wichita.

At about 11:30 crews responded to an accident near Lincoln and Fabrique.

At first it appeared to be a car hitting pedestrians, but now police say two cars, full of what appear to been teenagers, were driving at a high rate of speed down Lincoln. One lost control and hit a tree, killing one and injuring five others. Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

USD 259 officials have confirmed that all the passengers in the crashed car were students at Southeast High School.

The other vehicle, a tan or light colored SUV, fled the scene. Police are still looking for that vehicle.

Lincoln was closed between Edgemoor and Woodlawn for nearly four hours, but has since reopened.

So they're gang members. Well, that's no surprise. You play with fire, you're going to get burned. At least we should be able to get some of them out of decent society and incarcerate them where they belong. Good Riddance.

The only thing that I have to say is why were these kids not at school? Kids should not be allowed to leave school for their lunches. P arents usually don't even know their kids leave school during lunch. The school board needs to sit down and rethink theair policy on this before they get sued.

Wow, I wish kids would realize they arent invincible like they seem to think, but I remember when I was a teen and I guess we all feel that way until something like this happens. My prayers are with all involved.
