WICHITA, Kansas -- Around 5 o'clock Wednesday fire crews were called to Angela's restaurant at Kellogg and Greenwich.
Once crews arrived they found heavy smoke coming from the windows and doors of the building. Crews were unable to gain entry to the building to fight the fire and had to take a defensive stance.
Firefighters say there was one person inside the building when the fire started, and she got out okay, although did suffer from smoke inhalation.
A close friend of the owner tells KSN the restaurant is family owned and has been at the location for 10 years.
Fire investigators are still investigating the cause of the fire and where it started. They hope to know more on Thursday. Investigators say the building is a total loss, damage is estimated at $200,000 for the building and $100,000 for the contents.
