CLAREMORE, Oklahoma (NBC) – Country music star Garth Brooks took the stand for a second day Monday to testify in his lawsuit against Integris Health.
Brooks was questioned by an attorney for Integris for close to 45 minutes.
Brooks contends he had an agreement with the hospital in Yukon, Oklahoma to name a new building after his late mother.
Brooks says he donated $500,000 to secure the naming rights.
"I don't want to be a guy who's jaded. I want to continue to trust that when you shake someone's hand, they are giving you back what you're giving them," Brooks said.
The legal team for Integris questioned Brooks about his deposition from June 2010 and what he told jurors.
The attorney implied that there were inconsistencies in his story.
Integris maintains it never reached a deal with Brooks in exchange for the donation.
"We did not want to let down the Brooks family and our frustration was that we were never able to get to an agreement," Integris' Hardy Watkins said.
Brooks maintains that there was a verbal agreement.
Closing arguments are set for Tuesday morning.
The case will then go to the jury.
