WICHITA, Kansas – Wichita police say a fatal crash involving a semi and motorcycle is likely speed related.

Officers responded to the crash just after midnight Wednesday in the 112400 block of E. Kellogg. They say the driver of a semi was crossing Kellogg to proceed west on S. Frontage Rd. when the driver of a sport motorcycle, identified as 27-year-old James Dolyniuk, ran into the rear of the semi.

The semi driver and his passenger both report seeing the driver of the motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed. The semi driver told police he tried to accelerate and clear the road, but was unable to do so before the motorcycle collided with him.

Dolyniuk was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi was not injured.

Police say it appears speed was the only factor in the crash.

I think we just went over this on the last bike crash. Sport bikes are NOT dangerous but they need a competent rider. Riders, Kellogg is NOT the place to open them up....
