WICHITA, Kansas – Sarah Palin is coming to Wichita. The announcement that the former vice presidential candidate will be coming to the Air Capital comes just days before her planned speech in Salina.

She sold out the Salina Bicentennial Center, but can she do the same for the Intrust Bank Arena?

Palin’s visit to Wichita is for a fundraiser for Bethel Life School in south Wichita. The lead pastor at the church said Palin was a good fit for the fundraiser because she’s such a well-known mother and advocate for children. But he does not consider her personal beliefs to be the main focus of the event.

“Mrs. Palin’s faith and beliefs are certainly out there,” said Andrew Fox, pastor at Bethel Life School. “I don't know that our philosophies meet. That's not the purpose. Again, the purpose is her popularity. She has something to say, and I believe America wants to listen to what she has to say.”

Palin is not expected to visit the school during her May 2nd trip to Wichita. The event at the Intrust Bank Arena will feature a reception for top sponsors and a moderated question and answer period for the public.

The school has not said what tickets will cost for the event, but has scheduled a press conference for Wednesday morning.

Palin will be in Salina on Friday as the featured speaker at the sold-out Salina Chamber Banquet. Some 6,0000 people are expected to attend that event.

Officials at Bethel Life School tell KSN they will pay some costs and fees related to Palin’s visit. But they expect to recoup that cost easily at the fundraiser.
