MEDICINE LODGE, Kansas -- One person died and three others were injured in a one-vehicle accident near Medicine Lodge Tuesday evening.
The accident happened on Pixley Road, a half mile north of Thistle Road, just after 6 p.m.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a pickup truck was northbound on Pixley when it ran off the road, overcorrected, hit an embankment and rolled two and a half times.
One of the passengers, Trista Herd, 16, of Medicine Lodge, died at the scene.
The driver, Joshua Wayne Small, 22, of Medicine Lodge, is in critical condition at Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis.
Passenger Jacob Russell Harmon, 17, of Sharon, was transported to Wesley Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition.
Passenger Chelsea Lee Small, 19, of Medicine Lodge, is being treated at the Medicine Lodge Hospital. Her condition is unknown.
