WICHITA, Kansas -- Police are looking for a mother who allegedly tried to run over her teenage son.
The incident happened at 8:55 a.m. Monday, in the 1400 block of West Calvert.
A 16-year-old boy reports that he was trying to get into a vehicle that his mother was driving. He says he was by the open passenger door when his 38-year-old mother hit him with the door by moving the car.
"She then put the car in reverse and backed up and intentionally tried to run over the 16 year old," said Lt. Doug Nolte, Wichita Police Department. "He was able to get out of the way and was not hit when she tried to back up."
The mother then left the area.
The boy called 911. He's now in protective custody.
Police say another person also witnessed the incident.
