WICHITA, Kansas -- A Thanksgiving tragedy, as a Wichita couple is found dead in their home. Police say they were the victims of a home invasion robbery.

They were found by the man's sister. Police say the male victim was 26, the female victim was 25.

It happened in the 600 block of North Chautauqua in east Wichita.

“Just stunning, really it is. It's very stunning. I just can't believe it,” said Neighbor Anthony Liggins.

“Some family members came in to check on them cause they hadn't come for Thanksgiving dinner, so we don't have a time frame right now of when this occurred,” said Capt. Jeff Easter with the Wichita Police Department.

Detectives found the man and woman in the living room with gunshot wounds. Two children were also inside. They were unharmed and are now in police protection.

“I didn't even hear anything, that's the scary part about it,” said Liggins. “You know, it's just scary, real scary.”

Investigators say evidence inside the home leads them to believe this was a robbery. They say they've never been called to this home before. After interviewing family and friends, they have an idea of who the suspects might be.

When trying to talk to one relative, he became so uncooperative officers had to take him away in handcuffs.

“We have some individuals that we think possibly might have done this and he had some information and became extremely upset. We wanted to talk to him downstairs. We had to take him into custody to take him downtown,” said Capt. Easter.

Again, police have an idea of who may have committed this crime, but so far, no arrests have been made.
