WICHITA -- The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children shows there are 21 active cases of missing persons from Kansas.
Among the missing is Adam Herrman, who vanished years ago. The parents who adopted Herrman, Doug and Valerie Herrman, were each sentenced to jail time for accepting state child assistance monies for years after Adam vanished.
Adam Herrman vanished in 1999 from the family's Towanda home but he was not reported missing until 2008.
Another high-profile Kansas case is Jaquilla Evonne Scales, who went missing back in 2001. Her case has still not been solved.
