H-Line Conversions

WICHITA, Kansas, Nov. 13, 2007 – A Wichita man is making vehicles more fuel-efficient by boosting power and reducing emissions.

Johnathan Goodwin is a self-educated, mechanical and technical wunderkind who has taken the diesel engine to its highest efficiency using bio-diesel as fuel.

“Basically anytime that you can take a vehicle that was getting 10 mpg and double the fuel economy and double the hp and also make it way more environmentally-friendly by running on alternative fuel.  It’s always a good thing,” says Goodwin.

Goodwin created H-line Conversions – a Wichita company that turns 5000 pound big dogs like Hummers into puppies. He uses common diesel engines and tweaks them to run on renewable bio-fuels. His genius has landed him on numerous television shows from ‘Pimp my Ride’ the green version to the Discovery Channel.

Most of Goodwin’s conversion business is from California . Many are celebrities’ vehicles like Arnold Schwarzenegger’s ’87 Wagoneer. At a cost of $30,000 to $200,000, he does about six conversions a month. There’s enough demand for fifty conversions a month but Goodwin doesn’t want the business to run him.

Goodwin designs his projects in his head. He writes nothing down – and has every detail planned before picking up a wrench. Hybrid electric vehicles are next, followed by a dual-fuel power train that will cut fuel costs even further.

Goodwin is ready to market booster kits that are designed to boost horsepower and efficiency of factory diesel engines.

Goodwin’s conversion of Neil Young’s Continental will be the subject of a documentary film. He’s is also negotiating a television series whereby he will convert anything from a tractor to an airplane into an environmentally-friendly and efficient machine.
