WICHITA, Kansas, April 1, 2008 – A Wichita man is making it easy for people to deal with computer problems.
When your computer is working, it’s a blessing. When it’s not working, you want to curse.
The ‘curse’ part is what keeps the Bill Guy in business.
“We have this perfect realization that most people don't know how these things work, “ said Bill Ramsey with Bill Guy Tech Solutions. “When they call up, they're frantic, they don't know what happened, they're very anxious, and so we give them peace of mind.”
After working as an information tech guy for other companies, Ramsey set out on his own.
He began as an hourly consultant and after seven years has seen recent unusual growth. He attributes it to exemplary personal service.
“We had a 200 percent revenue growth last year, and a 400 percent profitability growth,” Ramsey said. “We have spread by word of mouth; I mean we hired six people last year.”
The Bill Guy is primarily a consulting company, maintaining and consulting on small business IT issues. He also has an inventory of used computers for sale.
Bill and his team work primarily with small business. They charge on an hourly basis or a monthly contract where they will maintain a company’s network.
New equipment allows him to fix many problems remotely. But his explosive grown hasn’t changed the way he handles clients.
“I have to make sure that all my clients have that same personal touch that I've always tried to make sure that they have what they need even without being there,” Ramsey said.
He realizes the many people may have many problems with your computers at home too, so for $90 an hour, a tech will get your computer up and running.
