WICHITA, Kansas, June 19, 2008 – Have you ever wondered what goes on under those white domes near K-96 in northeast Wichita? Well, you’re not alone.
It’s the Center for the Improvement of Human Functioning International or The Bright Spot for Health. And its research show that 73 percent of Wichitans don’t know what goes on there.
“We are more known nationally and internationally than we are known in our own community,” said Susan Glecier with The Bright Spot for Health.
The Bright Spot treats chronic ailments and sometimes offers conventional methods as a primary treatment by beginning with a thorough bio-chemical analysis.
They often find common foods that you eat that you didn't even know create a negative reaction. And they work with you on the way that you think about health, as well as helping you determine the right balance of nutrients to help correct a chronic condition.
“We actually have a lot of referrals from conventional doctors,” Glecier said.
In addition to patient care, there’s a tremendous amount of award winning research there. The latest award is from The Royal Society for Medicine for stem cell extraction from healthy menstrual blood.
The Bright Spot relies heavily upon donations and receives no government grants.
“People have spent most of their health gaining their wealth and in the end I believe that they're spending their wealth to gain back their health,” Glecier said.
Every weekday it serves a healthy, organic lunch for just $6.95.
So, next time you wonder about the place, take a clam drive down its serene driveway and drop by for lunch. It won’t hurt.
