WICHITA, Kansas, August 6, 2008 – If you’ve watched a movie this summer, you’ve probably seen they’re work. IMG has worked on movies like “Hancock” and “Transformers” and they do all that work in Wichita.
Just a few years ago, Jason Opat was trying to raise enough cash to purchase some better video and editing equipment. Now, he has enough ram in his Old Town studios to build three deminsional graphics for some of Hollywoods’ biggest hits. It’s a long time coming for a business that statrted small.
In January, Opat’s hard work paid off when he and some equity partners launced IMG or Integrated Media Group.
They have created graphic effects for “Get Smart”, “Transformers” and “Hancock” to name a few.
“I call it Integrated Media Group because it has its different divisions: IMG creative, IMG production, IMG interactive, and IMG pictures, which is our documentary company,” Opat said.
Jason's company has US distributorship for a Japanese product called the Ubiq Window, which is interactive media that just cannot be ignored. And while businesses struggle with finding good, loyal employees, IMG has created an enviable workplace.
“In our company, everybody learns from everybody else,” Opat said. “There isn't the term 'it's not my job.’ Learn it, we’ll teach you and somebody will teach you how to do something new and different.”
IMG employees love a challenge. They are now producing a full-length documentary for theater release called “Small Town USA.”
That and other efforts are paying off. Opat says he expects to break through the million dollar revenue mark this year.
