WICHITA, Kansas -- Wichita police say a 37-year-old man broke out the back passenger window of a police car early Sunday.
It happened after officers were responding to a report of domestic violence in the 3200 block of North Broadway at a motel.
A woman reported to police that her boyfriend was holding her down choking her.
During the fight, he grabbed a knife from the kitchen and threatened to cut her.
"There were several others that were in the hotel room when this occurred. They assisted in getting the suspect pinned down, and our victim was able to call 911," said Lt. Doug Nolte, Wichita Police Department.
When officers took the suspect into custody, he took his head a broke out the back window of the patrol car.
He was treated by EMS for minor cuts.
He was then booked into jail for aggravated assault as well as vandalism to a police car.
