DENISON, Texas (KTEN) - A Denison, Texas mother was arrested Tuesday after leaving her 3-year-old daughter at the scene of an auto accident.
Denison police say the driver of a silver Chevrolet SUV slammed into another SUV. After impact, investigators say the mother got out of the vehicle and ran off.
"After the accident happened, the driver of the suspect vehicle fled the scene on foot leaving a small child in the vehicle," Denison police Lt. Mike Eppler said.
The 3-year-old girl was not injured in the wreck.
Her mother's boyfriend held her as police searched for her mom. She didn't make it far.
She was found a short time later a couple of blocks away and given a field sobriety test.
