CLEVELAND, Ohio (WKYC) - Indians' fans know Omar Vizquel as a magician with a glove and Mr. Clutch with a bat, but now he's showing off his skills with a brush.
While he was manning the gap between 2nd and 3rd for 11 seasons, he was also busy painting.
"I think putting both together was a great balance of having fun, you know," says Vizquel.
"This is one of the things that really got me out of there and put me into a different mood," he said.
Vizquel started painting about 20 years ago and never took any formal lessons.
He now has showings of his work. He began his displays in Youngstown, Ohio and has shown in San Francisco and Venezuela.
All have been a hit. Click on the video link to see some of that art at his most recent showing.
Vizquel has also branched into music. He likes to play percussion.
