WICHITA, Kansas -- Anyone who planted their garden or flower beds over the weekend are cringing because temperatures are expected to dip near freezing.
Workers at the one open-air greenhouses were busy not with customers but with trying to protect their plants.
Sales have been down over the last month because of the steady stream of winter weather.
The manager says that he has high hopes about this weekend and the forecast of warmer temperatures.
"I think that people are so anxious for spring to finally be here, and the cold weather to be done, we're going to get stampeded, and we're going to have a ball," said Dan Parcel, Kaw Valley Greenhouses.
Dan says this is his 24th year, and he believes customers have paid more attention to the forecast and are waiting until the cold weather snaps are finally done.
