LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) — A 19-year-old Topeka woman has been charged in the shooting of a 51-year-old Lawrence man.
The Lawrence Journal-World reports that Douglas County prosecutors on Friday charged Brittny M. Adams with second-degree murder in the death of 51-year-old Gary Edens, who was shot and killed at his home Wednesday.
Adams was arrested in Topeka on Wednesday and is being held in the Douglas County jail on $100,000 bond.
Jonathan R. Rush, of Wichita, is also charged in the case with aggravated assault, obstruction and criminal possession of a firearm. He's being held on $75,000 bond. It's unclear if either Adams or Rush have attorneys.
Edens' death was the first murder reported in Lawrence since 2008.
