WICHITA, Kansas -- The investigation continues into what caused a KC- 135 tanker to crash overseas leaving no survivors.
A Florida Congressman tells KSN News he was briefed by Air Force Officials Monday morning. They told him that 3 crew members were on board when the KC- 135 tanker went down.
The tanker was based at McConnell Air Force Base as part of the 22nd Air Refueling Wing.
Sources confirmed to KSN News saying crew members were from the Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, Washington.
The crash happened in the central Asian nation of Kyrgyzstan just 638 miles from Afghanistan.
Officials say the tanker crashed shortly after taking off.
Eyewitness reported hearing an explosion and seeing fire in the sky. They say the tanker split into three pieces and was scattered across a grassy field.
Wreckage footage shows one piece of the aircraft and the word "onnell" could be made out on the vertical stabilizer.

It happened in the 2000 block of Piatte Street near 20th. A mechanical problem caused that crash killing 30 people.
Investigators are still trying to determine what caused the crash in Kyrgyzstan. They haven't said if it was due to a mechanical problem or if the tanker was attacked.
