Allegiant Air discontinues Orlando flights

WICHITA, Kansas, May 8, 2008 – Allegiant Air announced Thursday it will discontinue flights between Wichita and Orlando.

“Unfortunately, due to escalating fuel costs, we will end out Orlando service from Wichita,” said Maurice J. Gallagher, Allegiant Air president and CEO.

The airline’s last day of service to Orlando from Wichita will be July 7, 2008. Anyone with flight reservations for July 11 and later will be contacted by Allegiant Air directly for reacommodation.

Allegiant Air began low-cost flights from Wichita Las Vegas non-stop in February 2003. Flights to Orlando began in May 2007. The flights to Las Vegas will continue despite Thursday’s announcement.
