Wichita spa will pamper victims of domestic abuse

By Jessica Oakley

WICHITA, Kansas, May 9, 2008 -- There is still time to make Mother’s Day special on Sunday.

A lot or people were doing that Friday by buying Mother’s Day packages at Wichita’s Healing Waters Spa. In fact, there were so many the spa may have to switch things up a bit to handle the huge crowds. While they are figuring options to do that, staying open longer isn’t one of them.

“We’re talking to people, we're definitely talking to people,” said owner Amanda Gorecki. “We do want to keep serving the people of Wichita and our staff is passionate. But we can't extend our hours all night long in Wichita it’s not New York City. We can't be open all night.”

And in these tough economic times, you’ll be surprised to know that Healing Waters Spa will even give some of its services away.

Sunday night at 10 p.m., KSN will tell you the real reason we wondered into the spa today. We’ll have a special Mother’s Day story that will have Healing Waters Spa celebrating next week with some women in Wichita who aren’t used to being pampered.
